About the Role Rimu House is located in Somerfield near the main Hohepa Campus, which is home to an older woman named Betty. Betty enjoys her activities which you will work alongside with her on a 1:1 basis, activities range from swimming, crafts, art for life, knitting and visiting museums! You will also look at other activities to fill Betty's day to ensure she has a fulfilling life such as being involved in the community or taking Betty to visit her friends and family. 
To be successful in this role you will be energetic, empathetic and able to work alongside?Betty ?focusing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space.? Ideally you will have previous experience working alongside people with intellectual disabilities and have had to support challenging behaviours whilst being calm under pressure. 
Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. You will be passionate about supporting and extending people's ability to access and be part of their wider community. If you are looking for a new challenge this could be the opportunity for you.? 
This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependent on qualification level pays between $22.70 and $28.25 per hour.   
Rostered hours: Monday to Friday - 9am to 4pm 70 hours per fortnight
