This role is an important component of our staffing and service delivery we provide to guests. As an awake overkaimahi, your priority is supporting guests overnight. This may include providing an empathetic ear over a cuppa, facilitating sleep hygiene or supporting them to achieve other goals. You will also have the opportunity to learn/utilize skills such as mindfulness and sensory modulation to support guests.Working from a trauma informed lens, you will bring a calm, flexible personality and a can-do attitude. Your ability to remain optimistic and positive in challenging situations will support you to achieve optimal outcomes for our guests. Your communication skills will enhance your professional and friendly manner, while maintaining clear boundaries to provide an environment that supports the achievement of equitable outcomes for all.
