Job Summary: We are seeking energetic and passionate individuals to join our team at Hohepa, a disability support service in Otaihanga. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting people with intellectual disabilities to reach their potential in finding and following their needs and dreams, fostering connections within the community, facilitating personal growth, and helping them find meaningful activities. We offer a supportive environment for career progression and provide opportunities to achieve NZQA equivalent qualifications in Health and Wellbeing. Skills: - Energetic and passionate about supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities - Possess hobbies, interests, or skills that can be shared with others (e.g., drama, music, art) - Natural teaching abilities - Observant and intuitive - Respectful of diversity - Kind-hearted and patient Responsibilities: 1. Assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in finding friends and building social connections. 2. Support individuals to engage in activities that align with their interests. 3. Foster personal growth by providing guidance and encouragement. 4. Facilitate community involvement by organising outings or events. 5. Help individuals explore opportunities for meaningful activities. 6. Maintain accurate records.
