You will report to the Team Coach and join our Crisis & Planned Adult Respite - Mental Health & Addictions Facility. You will be working with a team of Support Workers – all with a common purpose of supporting people experiencing mental distress.
At Pathways, our respite service offers a welcoming, home-like environment where tangata whai ora can have a short break when they need to rest and focus completely on their well-being. Supportive Kaimahi are on hand to help support tangata whai ora back to the space they wish to be. Pathways Taranaki Adult Respite is a four-bed service. Support Workers on the Awake Night Shift are awake throughout the night for tangata whai ora, to ensure safety, aroha, and support over these hours.
Adult Respite is an option when needing time away from home OR transitioning from inpatient services to reconnect back to the community.
This is a fixed-term position until March 2025. You will be on a rotating roster as follows:
Week 1: Wednesday – Saturday, 11pm – 7:30am
Week 2: Thursday – Saturday, 11pm – 7:30am
Responsibilities include: Advocate and support people to be well and thrive.Connect them with resources that support them in living well and assist them in building resilience.Help people connect with their communities, building the relationships that matter most.Foster positive change for a more positive life.Provide medication support for our people.Provide a listening ear.You | Mou NZ full driver's licence.Current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW), Level 4.Support Worker experience or similar.Sound knowledge and understanding of the primary care sector.Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Closing Date: Monday, 6th January 2025.
