We are all about hope and respect and providing personalised support that changes as people's needs change.About the role | Mo tenei turanga mahiYou will report to the Team Coach and join our Crisis & Planned Adult Respite - Mental Health & Addictions Facility. You will be working with a team of Support Workers – all with a common purpose of supporting people experiencing mental distress.At Adult Respite, whai ora come to gain and develop skills to best maintain their wellbeing, experience a homelike environment, and become part of our whanau. As an Adult Respite Kaimahi, support will be provided to whai ora during the day and evening shifts with conversation, encouragement, and aroha. Adult Respite is a 24hr service offering a welcoming, home-like environment when a break from home-life is needed. Respite is a place where kaimahi support whai ora to rest, and hold focus on wellbeing, goal setting, connection with services, and whanau.Adult Respite is an option when needing time away from home OR transitioning from inpatient services to reconnect back to the community.This is a fixed-term position until January 2024. You will be working Friday– Monday, based in Brooklands, New Plymouth.Friday & Saturday, 7:00am – 3:30pmSunday & Monday, 3:30pm – 11:30pmResponsibilities include:Advocate and support people to be well and thrive.Connect them with resources that support them in living well and assist them in building resilience.Help people connect with their communities, building the relationships that matter most.Foster positive change for a more positive life.Provide medication support for our people.Provide a listening ear.You | MouNZ full driver's licence.Current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW).Support Worker experience or similar.Sound knowledge and understanding of the primary care sector.Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Closing Date: Monday, 11th November 2024.
