The role | Mo tenei turanga mahi
We're seeking a new team member for an awake night shift position to work in our residential service. We support individuals experiencing mental health distress that prevents them from staying in their home environment.
The shift is Sunday to Wednesday working the awake nights from 11pm - 7.30am in Nelson. We also provide a complimentary meal for staff working on the awake night shift.
Your main focus will be working alongside individuals during the night to support their recovery and enhance their wellbeing.
You'll also:
Focus on the individuals' needs and provide culturally safe practice
Perform relevant administrative tasks, comprehensive notes, effective handover, and support and collaborate with your colleagues
Be prepared to support our clients to do whatever it takes using a recovery model
While the people you support are asleep, you will be busy with other tasks like cleaning and supporting the day shifts with maintaining filing, first aid kits, emergency kits, and preparation of paperwork.
About You | Mou
Ideally, you'll hold a Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or an equivalent qualification or be currently working towards it). To check equivalency, visit this link . You should also have the ability to provide medication support with meticulous attention to detail. Additionally, you'll align with our commitment to a recovery-focused approach.
You'll also have:
Preferably a New Zealand Certificate Level 4 in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent, or currently studying towards it).
Some mental health experience is needed
A full New Zealand driver's licence
A current comprehensive first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
