About the Role Koru house is located at the Hohepa Campus with 3 individuals that you will be supporting, Jessica, John and Gary. The Koru house is very active in the community and enjoy visiting the airport, working the paper route, Dragon Boating and being involved in the Hohepa Activities. In this role you will also be supporting a young male Jack on a 1:1 basis during the day, Jack is very talented with swimming, art and technology and is looking for someone that can share his interest and keep him engaged! 
We are looking for people who are resilient, self-motivated, empathetic, and who have a passion for helping others and making a real difference in people's lives.  You'll be a team player, with a positive outlook, able to problem solve using sound judgement, manage risk and make thoughtful decisions. We encourage the people we support to have choices and independence, so we are looking for someone that can support decisions and help set boundaries with kindness, being able to develop creative strategies to support this would be an advantage. You will be energetic, empathetic and able to work alongside?this person?focusing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space.? 
Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. You will be passionate about supporting and extending people's ability to access and be part of their wider community. 
This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level pays between $23.15  and $28.25 per hour.     
Rostered hours:  Sunday 8am to 8pm Monday 7am to 9am, 4pm to 9pm Tuesday 7am to 9am, 4pm to 9pm Wednesday 7am to 9am Total Hours per Fortnight: 56
