In every aspect of our work, we are committed to helping whanau be the best they can be.Our residential service is based in Rolleston and are looking for a passionate, assertive, confident and compassionate Support Worker to join a new bespoke service looking after clients with autistic spectrum disorder.We have 2 casual positions available.Your duties will include but are not limited to:Establish a rapport with tangata whaiora and their whanau.Provide day to day support in alignment with client/tangata whaiora goals and support plans including risk management plans and Safety Plans.Work with tangata whaiora to identify significant goals. Provide encouragement and support clients to achieve their goals.Attend and contribute to team meetings, bringing ideas and updating others on their activities.Ensure all incidents are documented appropriately.We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident, and compassionate to work in our service. You'll use your non-judgemental attitude and belief to motivate and encourage whanau to realise their potential. You'll have the ability to easily build professional relationships, while maintaining strong professional boundaries.To be successful in this role, you will need:NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Level 4 or be able to demonstrate your current plans to achieve this mandatory requirement.Preferably have experience working with clients with autism and an awareness of sensory issues but not essential if you have a can-do attitude and empathy to work with Tangata Whaiora and be part of a team.Ability to work collaboratively with mental health professionals and within our team.Flexibility to work variable hours.Demonstrated commitment to recovery values.Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.Eligible to work in New Zealand.A current full driver's licence.Our team culture is very important to us.
