Support Block Manager

Job Description Latitude Farms is the Southland subsidiary of Grasslands.
We pride ourselves in the development and wellbeing of our people.
Southland has four dairy farms and four support blocks in Mossburn and two dairy farms in Orepuki, totaling 3,365 hectares, 6,300 milking cows, 1,780 heifers, and 403 bulls.
We seek a well-organised manager with experience in the day-to-day management of young stock for our Oswald Road Support Block.
The property is 750ha, running 1,000 R2 heifers, 1,000 R1 heifers, and 200 carryover cows.
Oswald Road is also a wintering block for 2,500 cows which is managed by our Contract Milkers.
The right person will be good at: Growing young stock to target weights Organising winter feed plans Creating & following feed budgets Organising & working with dairy farm staff at peak work times Preserving relationships with lessors and external contractors Ensuring farm records are kept up to date Following the Grasslands Health & Safety Policy Working independently and self-managing General skills - tractor, fencing maintenance, temporary fencing, pasture management, animal health We offer: A work vehicle for use during work hours Competitive salary A good team of workers The successful applicant will report to the General Manager and work closely with the two other Support Block Managers.
