FURTHER PROCESSING SUPERVISOR/TEAM LEADER
Duncan South Ltd (DSL) is an export Venison Processor based on the outskirts of Dunedin in the small community of Mosgiel.
An opportunity has arisen for a suitable person to take up the role of supervisor/team leader in our Further Processing operation.
The objective of this role is to provide effective supervision and leadership for our Further Processing (Boning Room) team. This role's focus will be on ensuring the production of high-quality products are produced in a safe and efficient environment.
This is a permanent full-time position, predominately Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday during the peak of our season.
The ideal candidate will be proactive and organised. They will have a hands-on approach and work with their team to ensure the daily requirements are delivered.
Previous experience in a meat processing environment is an advantage, but not essential.
Duties and responsibilities will include the following:
• Management of daily boning operations are carried out in a safe, efficient manner and in line with our Health and Safety policy and meeting our customer specification
• Ensure all processes, policies, regulations and requirements are adhered to.
• Experience with raising Eds and cutting plans would be an advantage, but training is available.
• Provide relevant reports and commentary to management as requested
• Staff development is a key part of our culture. The ability to coach and train is essentual.
• Ensure yield recoveries are maximised for all product types
• Other associated duties as required
Key Requirements
• Supervisory experience in a manufacturing, meat processing or food production environment (preferred but not essential)
• Logical problem solving/decision making
• Attention to detail, rules, regulations and procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle a dynamic environment
• Physically fit for regular heavy lifting
• Eligible to work in New Zealand (NZ citizen, resident, or open work visa)
• Competent user of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel,)
• Sound verbal and written communication skills
• Employment references.
• Clean criminal record
