Te Turanga | About the role The City Operations Team performs an essential role in our city, keeping our green spaces well maintained and beautiful. Tauranga is a great place to live and play and our green spaces are core to the community's ability to enjoy everything the city has to offer.
We are currently seeking a superstar Supervisor for our mowing team. This brand-new role will oversee a team of approximately 18 people who will be spread all over our city. You'll need to be a seasoned people leader that knows how to motivate, engage and support a crew of all different levels of capability. You'll be a community focused role model that understands that our customers are our top priority. You won't shy away from the tough conversations and also won't mind getting your hands dirty from time to time!
Nga Pukenga | What you'll need to succeed Significant experience in leading people to deliver outcomes to a high standard.Ideally experience in the reserves/ mowing/ contract management space.Strong problem-solving and planning ability, being able to weigh up costs, impacts, and prioritise work based on that.A track record in successfully implementing Health & Safety plans and procedures as well as driving a culture of speaking up.Full clean NZ drivers licence.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Competent computer/ technical ability and a willingness to learn new systemsHonesty, integrity, resilience and heaps of common sense!
