Welders & Boilermakers (Trades & Services)Full timeSupervisor (Leading Hand) required for our Product 3 workshop based in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.We are seeking a skilled Leading Hand to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in managing resource allocation, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high-quality fabrication standards. This is a workshop-based role primarily. Your responsibilities will include:Key Accountabilities:Collaboration with the Department Supervisor to manage workshop workflow.Attend to quality assurance (QA) requirements for all work produced before leaving the company premises.Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.Approving daily timesheets for workshop staff.Purchase materials and coordinate third-party services as needed.Hold weekly toolbox meetings and daily pre-start meetings with the team.Communicate daily operations and address any arising issues with the Department Supervisor.Essential Attributes, Skills, and Knowledge:Trade qualified with at least 4 years expertise in fabrication techniques and solid knowledge of welding codes.Able to interpret complex drawings and develop isometric sketches.Familiarity with engineering practices and QA processes.Strong knowledge of H&S policies and awareness of the HSAW Act.Self-motivated, reliable, and professional.Effective communication skills to motivate and support the workshop team.Competent in the use of workshop equipment and able to train others.Hold a current class 1 NZ driver's license.
