Supervising/News Editor (East Asia), CNA Digital Supervising/News Editor (East Asia), CNA Digital Editing & Publishing (Advertising, Arts & Media) CNA Digital is looking for experienced editors to be part of its exciting expansion in reporting about mainland China, along with developments involving Hong Kong and Taiwan, that will have an impact on Asia. The successful candidate will work with or oversee a team of regional correspondents and video journalists in TV and/or Digital platforms. Responsibilities : Assist Deputy Chief Editor (International) in identifying and shaping top foreign stories of the day and ensuring CNA Digital stands out in its coverage of major news events Ensure a steady supply of original, value-added, and impactful stories from foreign correspondents that also meet the highest editorial standards Monitor news developments in China and the region, and provide prompt, concise and accurate summaries to guide editorial decisions Exercise sound judgment in identifying possible content from news developments that will be of interest and impact to regional readers Ability to put together breaking news stories or pen op-eds when called upon Provide suggestions in forward planning of major events, and guide foreign correspondents for assignments in the region Be point persons for correspondents, ensuring they are operationally ready to cover breaking news Hold regular discussions with correspondents, flagging any bureau issues and training needs to senior editors Contribute to CNA's efforts in adopting new technology, social media tools Candidates hired as supervising editors will: work with other departments to produce cross-platform content for CNA identify/spearhead editorial projects that can be entered for regional/international media awards develop and enhance professional competence by providing feedback, guidance to HQ editorial staff and foreign correspondents Qualification Requirements : At least 7 years of editorial experience in covering China/East Asia for a regional news platform Candidates with prior supervisory or reporting experience of covering greater China region a plus A news junkie with a keen interest of the news/current affairs agenda in China and across Asia Outstanding editing skills, with the ability to take raw copy and turn it into clear, concise stories A sound understanding of geopolitical sensitivities, and awareness of potential red lines Working fluency in Chinese language, with basic ability to interpret or translate between English and Chinese An independent operator with solid inter-personal skills who can also be a strong team player Prior experience in working with visuals/AI/social media tools a plus A willingness to put in extra hours when needed, including some weekends and public holidays This position is based in Singapore, with occasional opportunities to travel for work Broadcast Media, Entertainment and Publishing Mediacorp is Singapore's leading media company with the most complete range of platforms, spanning television, radio, newspapers, magazines, movies, digital and out-of-home media.
