EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

P a tea and Waverley

We are seeking mature, responsible, community minded people interested in gaining their Lifeguard Qualification and supervising Patea and Waverley local pools this season.

Our season begins 9 December 2024 and ends 10 March 2025. Ideally, you will be available for the whole season.

The key responsibilities of the role are actively supervising swimmers and ensuring their safety, water testing and keeping the pool and facility clean. Your communication skills will be key to effectively running day to day pool operations alongside your coworkers.

You will need

To swim 200m in under 6 minutes

To be able to retrieve an object from the deepest part of the pool and complete other water competencies

A great attitude and customer service skills

Full training is provided. You will attend a First Aid Course to acquire unit standards 6400, 6401 and 6402. Following this, you will complete the Lifeguard Course (PLSA).

Once you have done the Lifeguard Course, you will need to undertake 20 hours inhouse poolside training to complete the qualification and gain a Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate.
