The Whakapapa whanau are a small but ambitious team, running year-round operations on the northern slopes of Mt Ruapehu. In winter, from June until October, this includes a world-class ski area. In summer, from December until April, this includes our summer sightseeing operation, heroing our iconic Sky Waka gondola. Each year we welcome hundreds of thousands of manuhiri (guests) to Whakapapa, many with life-long connections to the maunga (mountain) and surrounding region, some even third or fourth generation.
Mo te tunga | About the role Are you looking to immerse yourself in a NZ Tourism with a unique NZ cultural element in a World Heritage and Cultural Park? We are looking for friendly and personable staff to join our Front of House Food & Beverage Team.
Key responsibilities include: Working on the tills and POS, including cash handlingCommunicating with Head Barista & Supervisor on aspects associated with making great coffeeAssisting in cleaning café and other areas of the departmentCreating amazing coffee (don't worry if you haven't been trained - we will teach you what you need to know)Experience working in hospitality or retail would be beneficial.Positive and proactive verbal communication skills and a willingness to work in a team.Helpfulness and willingness when dealing with people.A flexible approach to work schedules and guest needsGear up for the ultimate work adventure at Whakapapa. Remuneration range - $23.15 to $24.74 depending on experience.
