Substation Primary Design Engineer

Details of the offer

ElectroNet Consulting is redefining the future of energy in Australasia with smart, sustainable substation design. We're looking for experienced Electrical Engineers with expertise in 11kV to 220kV to bring strong primary design skills and leadership potential to our Transmission and Distribution teams. If you're passionate about contributing to decarbonization and renewable projects, join us in shaping New Zealand's energy landscape.
What You'll Do:
Lead Technical Design: Lead, develop, and execute primary substation designs—everything from equipment layouts and switchboard and cable designs to integrating and coordinating geotechnical structural and civil input.
Build the Future: Engage in feasibility studies, detailed designs, and concept work for substations focused on growth and renewables.
Be the Mentor You Once Had: Share your knowledge and help grow our promising team of engineers, providing guidance on projects and technical approaches.
Explore Project Leadership: Step up as a technical lead on projects or focus as a design specialist in your field.
Deliver Quality: Craft high-quality reports, presentations, and drawings that convey complex designs clearly to clients.
About You:
You have around 7-15 years of experience in substation design, specialising in primary design. You're an enthusiastic leader ready to mentor a dynamic, talented team and bring innovative, efficient designs to life.
Key Requirements:
Experience working on substations in the 11kV to 220kV range.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent recognised by the Washington Accord.
Strong understanding of single line diagrams.
High-voltage equipment specification experience.
Not essential but beneficial: familiarity with AutoCAD or other drafting software.
