What you'll be doing | He aha tau e mahi ana
As the face of the organisation, you will be working alongside our people providing financial support and connecting whanau to a wide range of services and other assistance as required. The whanau we serve come from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. You will create a safe environment for people to explore options and determine what's most important to them. You will empower whanau to take the lead in developing and achieving their goals.
You will build strong relationships and work collaboratively with others to enhance outcomes for our people. You will need to develop and maintain relationships with your peers and partner agencies to give and receive support when needed.
You will be exceptionally organised, with sound decision-making and problem-solving skills. In addition to this, you will bring a high level of personal integrity and initiative and take ownership and responsibility to follow through and deliver for the people in our community.
Be purposeful: show care and warmth, give support to others. Look after the dignity of people through the expression of manaaki.
Be strategic: support whanau to set realistic goals.
Be resilient: the work is fast-paced and demanding. You will be highly dependable and have the grit and tenacity to show up and work hard, bringing developed strategies with you to cope with pressure, in an ever-changing environment.
Be open: be fully present and listen intently without judgement to what is being said, empathise with whanau and their experiences, thoughts, and feelings.
Our ideal candidate needs to be/have:
able to work at pace and make good decisions, often in isolation.
flexibility to travel across the region and work in different locations. This will require you to have a full NZ drivers' licence.
comfortable working in a fast-paced, pressured environment and enjoy navigating through unexpected challenges.
strong facilitation, planning and organisational skills.
strong relationship and negotiation skills are desired and the ability to motivate and empower others to overcome barriers in a non-judgmental way.
