Korero mo te turanga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting Student Wellbeing Facilitators to join the Manawa Ora - Student Wellbeing team on a casual contract. The role of a Student Wellbeing Facilitator is to provide peer wellbeing support through engaging students in conversation and activities. It is also to empower students to make the most of support that can enhance their personal wellbeing, e.g. self-help resources and services available at University.
Student Wellbeing Facilitators are expected to:

Actively welcome and engage students in conversation and activities.
Provide peer wellbeing support.
Refer students to other services.
Promote social connectedness and engagement.
Boundary inappropriate or disrespectful behaviour and seek support as needed.
Promote healthy and balanced lifestyles.
Host a space and activities that are inclusive, positive and socially engaging.
Promote Manawa Ora - Student Wellbeing at events.
Attend training and team meetings.
Respond to communication from supervisors and managers.
Complete timesheets weekly.
Support the implementation of Ki te ra - Student Wellbeing Outcomes Framework.

O pumanawa - About you
The ideal candidate will:

Be a current student at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington.
Be able to attend training on the 13th and 14th of February 2025.
Have flexibility to attend rostered shifts, team meetings, and respond to communication.
Have a commitment to the application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in an educational context and knowledge and experience of Te Ao Maori and in working with Maori individuals, whanau and communities.
Have experience and interest in working with Pasifika, gender diverse, refugee background, disabled people and international communities.

Our team is dedicated to enhancing student wellbeing and ensuring students are well connected with the University community. We offer you $27.8 per hour with 8% holiday pay as you go, and up to 6 hours per week (rostered shifts and supervision) along with supervision and upskilling by our Peer Support Coordinator and line management from the Health and Wellbeing Promoter.
