The Administrative Assistant to Student Support Services in Tairawhiti ensures smooth operation and coordination of student support programmes. This role involves effective communication with SSS staff, administrative support for key initiatives, and maintaining consistent processes. By organizing meetings, travel, and providing high-quality customer service, the assistant supports the Team Leader and helps create an efficient working environment. This position is vital for delivering the support students need to succeed, this role is for 8 hours per week.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $46,933 and $48,339 FTE, dependent on skills and experience.
The Student Support Administrator is based in our Tairawhiti Campus | Te Pukenga reporting to the Team Leader of Student Support Services and will be responsible for:
Programme Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support for SSS programmes in the Tairawhiti region, including Maori and Pasifika Trade Training and Youth Guarantee Scholarship administration.
Communication and Liaison: Ensure effective communication with SSS staff and develop positive working relationships across all campuses.
Administrative Duties: Manage various administrative tasks, including secretarial support for meetings, coordinating catering, and organizing meetings and travel.
Support for Team Leader: Update and provide statistics and reports, prepare documents, and maintain key stakeholder lists.
Training and Development: Train team members in information and communication technology skills and undertake additional duties as required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Qualifications and Experience: A qualification in computing and/or administration is advantageous, with proven relevant experience in administration within the tertiary sector.
Communication and Relationships: High-level communication and liaison skills, with experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships within a multi-site workplace.
Customer Focus and Service: Demonstrated commitment to customer focus and satisfaction, providing high-quality, friendly service within deadlines, and knowledge of EIT programmes and enrolment processes.
Technical and Interpersonal Skills: High level of numeracy, literacy, and accuracy, strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in data processing, word processing, and spreadsheet management, and the ability to work unsupervised with strong self-motivation.
Teamwork and Flexibility: Commitment to working within a team environment, multi-skilling, supporting team members across multiple venues, and managing conflict and complaints effectively, with an understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.
