Student Support Officer - Multiple LocationsThe Club is currently seeking Student Support Officers across the following locations:Loganlea - 2 to 5 daysCleveland - 2 to 5 daysHow you can play a partThe purpose of the Student Support Officer is to provide mentoring and support services to our First Nations students in years 7-12 through the successful delivery of our Beyond the Broncos Program.
This program focuses on engagement, retention, and academic progress through:Providing culturally safe mentoring and strengths-based support to participantsWorking collaboratively with key stakeholders including school staff, parents, carers, indigenous community, NGOs, and government agenciesUpdating and maintaining student profiles and recordsProviding students with career pathway support including mentoring, work experience, industry engagement, info sessions, self-awareness, etc.Implementing, monitoring, and reviewing attendance, behaviour, effort, retention, and attainment strategiesOther ad hoc tasks as requiredTo be consideredTo be considered for this opportunity you will have:Previous experience working with First Nations young people and an understanding of local community groupsA relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Education, Youth, or Community ServiceStrong communication and interpersonal skillsComprehensive administration and reporting skillsA strong sense of respect for confidentiality involving participants and team membersNote: All applicants must hold a current Drivers License, Blue Card, and/or WWCC to be considered.
