Student Support Assistant (20 Hours Per Week)

Our small, welcoming Blenheim Campus is seeking to appoint a Student Support Assistant on a part-time, fixed-term basis from 29 April – 6 December 2024 to cover patental leave. This role involves working with small groups of students and one-to-one with a Year 10 student, 20 hours per week, from 8:40 am to 12:40 pm, Monday to Friday. While induction and additional training will be provided, the following experience and skills are essential: Recent experience working with young people, particularly those at a similar age range.Experience supporting young people with learning challenges.Experience applying effective strategies and opportunities for learning. An understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and of different learning methods.
