The Student Services Manager works as a mentor, leader, and community representative to best represent the goals of QRC and our students. Engaged with all touch points along the student journey, this position is critical to helping students achieve academically. From enabling a smooth admissions process, providing effective onboarding and ongoing support while on campus, the student services manager is a central role within the organisation.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide student support services and pastoral care
Manage visa and immigration requirements
Supports implementation and compliance with the Education Code of Practice
Ensure optimal management of student welfare
Coordinate the events calendar for students and college functions including orientation, end-of-term functions, and EQRC support.
Assist students with general enquiries and support, providing connection to external health providers as required
Support Hall of residence operations to ensure alignments with the wider organisational pastoral support model
Health & Safety:
Promote QRC's health and safety policies
Report all identified hazards, incidents (including near misses) and accidents
Contribute to creating and sustaining a safe working environment for all students and staff
Participate in mandatory health and safety training as required
Preferred Experience:
Education, student counselling, pastoral care & supervision
Organisation management and the development, implementation and monitoring of policy and procedures
Experience with dealing with a variety of cultures and age groups
Effective communication, exceptional written and oral skills
Cultural sensitivity – demonstrated ease and respect in dealing with people from different cultures and ethnic groups
Willingness to undertake a broad array of tasks across several departments
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Understanding of the tertiary education sector
Personal integrity and credibility
The personality, profile and personal appearance to represent QRC as required by its desired standards and level of professionalism
The ability to model performance that is consistent with the values, ethical standards and desired culture of the College
