About the Role:
As a Student Recruitment Advisor, you'll connect with prospective students in a way that honours their values and aspirations. Representing AUT at events, high schools, and community gatherings across Aotearoa, you'll need a full, clean driver's licence to travel to various locations and build meaningful connections. You'll also collaborate closely with university departments focused on Maori achievement and holistic student support. Reporting to the Student Recruitment Team Lead, your role will contribute directly to AUT's recruitment goals and our commitment to supporting students' journeys in alignment with matauranga Maori values.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Attend recruitment events, high school visits, and expos to connect with students, offering pathways that reflect AUT's values and opportunities.
• Develop and deliver presentations and activities that uplift and inspire, encouraging students to explore their potential.
• Build strong relationships with students, their whanau, and community leaders, providing clear guidance and support throughout the application process.
• Work in collaboration with AUT departments dedicated to Maori development and student success, ensuring seamless support for each student's journey.
• Contribute to the Future Students team's goals by actively engaging in recruitment efforts grounded in matauranga Maori values.
Skills and Experience:
• Proven experience in customer service, sales, or recruitment roles, with experience in educational or community-focused work preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a range of audiences.
• Confidence in presenting and a natural ability to connect meaningfully with students and whanau.
• Understanding of the secondary education landscape, with a focus on supporting students' success in ways that align with matauranga Maori values.
• A full, clean driver's licence is essential for travel to high schools and community events.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $96,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
