Exposure: Experience a variety of roles within council, allowing you the ability to 'try out' placements to see where you 'fit' and what roles align with your interests.
Key points for Gateway applicants:
You must have the support and permission from your college to apply.
You must have the support and permission from your primary caregiver to apply.
You must be at least 16 years old to be considered for a Gateway placement.
You must be attending a contributing Hauraki District College to be considered for a Gateway placement.
Participating in a Gateway Programme does not guarantee you a 'role' within Council.
Gateway is on a volunteer basis, therefore no remuneration will be given.
Gateway Students are expected to arrange their own transportation to and from their placement.
Interested candidates can apply by completing the online application form and uploading your CV and Cover letter. When/if we have suitable availability you will be contacted for an interview.
If you are successful in gaining a Gateway Placement, you will be required to complete a confidentiality agreement and personal data/medical forms.
