Student Counsellor

Details of the offer

We are seeking a compassionate International Student Counsellor to support the unique needs of our diverse international student population.
You will assist students in adjusting to life in a new country, overcoming cultural challenges, living in accommodation and succeeding academically.
  Key Responsibilities : Provide personal, academic, and cultural counselling to international students.
Ensure students are aware of all resources available for their success, including tutoring, financial aid, and mental health services.
Provide support for students facing academic and personal challenges.
Collaborate with campus services to ensure international students have access to housing, healthcare, and other resources.
Address issues related to homesickness, accommodation, culture shock, and communication barriers.
Job pre-requisites: Degree in Education area, Pedagogy, Psychology or a related field.
Experience working with students or in a school environment.
(six months or one year/ minimum) Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
Excellent presentation and organisational skills.
Strong knowledge of the development of strategies and problem-solving.
Knowledge and experience with management.  Preferably: Candidates who are fluent in Portuguese or Spanish, and English.
