We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Wellington . You will work in a team environment providing structural design solutions for our internal and external clients. The role: Designing structures composed of reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber, masonry and their associated foundations Design of commercial and industrial buildings (new and retrofit) Design of civil infrastructure for water, wastewater and stormwater treatment facilities Design of retaining wall structures Seismic assessment, design/strengthening of earthquake prone buildings Construction monitoring/contract administration on projects Use of structural analysis software for design of structures Will occasionally be required to work away from the office / work from other office locations for short periods of typically two to three days. About you: A relevant university degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering CPEng Membership of Engineering New Zealand. 4+ years industry experience in Structural engineering, consulting experience would be an advantage Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand Building Code and Standards. Experience utilising a broad range of skills across various types of buildings and materials within a consulting environment would be beneficial. Working knowledge of the NZ Building Act and Code together with knowledge of public and private sector development requirements. Able to prioritise, work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills both oral and written A track record of forming strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to achieve results and secure work.
