We are looking for an experienced, future-focused Strategy and Planning Manager who can step into this newly created role, leading our talented team of professionals for the Bay of Plenty Regional Council. The primary focus of this role is to provide supportive leadership, coaching and direction to the Strategy and Planning team. You will work collaboratively with internal and external partners to support and influence current and future spatial planning for the Bay of Plenty Region. The work delivered by you and your team will have a significant impact on Bay of Plenty communities now and into the future, as we look to understand and implement new legislation and make decisions that impact our dynamic and changing communities. You will need significant spatial, urban planning and/or resource management experience, including experience at a senior management level leading a planning function. You will be an innovative and capable leader whose values align with our Toi Moana values and Te Pae Rangatira leadership framework. Highly developed relationship and negotiation skills will be a core skill set that will be evidenced by your proven track record of fostering strong internal and external stakeholder relationships. A working understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how this is applied to spatial planning will be essential.
