The Strategy Manager plays a key role in the development, planning and maintenance of Serko's strategy. This role involves research, analysis and engagement with stakeholders, to define and shape the company's long-term direction. Working closely with Executives, the Strategy Manager ensures that strategic plans align with the company's mission and vision. This role requires a combination of technical skills, analytical thinking, and effective communication/facilitation to be successful.
Requirements
What you'll get to do You'll be utilising strategic frameworks to assess the business environment and inform strategic decisions and applying methodologies to optimise business processes and enhance strategic outcomes. Establish and optimise strategic intelligence gathering processes, leveraging industry insights and contacts from the management teams.
Research and conduct quantitative analysis for company and divisional strategies, including financial analysis, opportunity sizing, operational assessment, and product strategy. Analyse macroeconomic trends and fiscal policies to assess their impact on the business. Conduct comprehensive market and competitor analyses to understand industry dynamics, competitive positioning and emerging opportunities. Identify and share key insights that are applicable to our business and strategies based on research and analytics and then provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis to inform decision-making and strategic direction.
Facilitating development and refinement of the company's strategy and support the executive team in the process of developing overall business goals and collaborating with key stakeholders to identify growth opportunities and formulate strategic initiatives to drive business success. Support the implementation of strategic plans, monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary and develop and conduct scenario planning and option development.
You'll Connect the strategy to operations, including supporting cross-organisational initiatives and develop regular reporting for the Board and the organisation on the success of key strategic initiatives.
You' be supporting the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the success of strategic initiatives and working closely with our FP&A team to oversee the development of business cases, financial models, and performance metrics to assess the impact of strategic initiatives. Regularly analyze and report on performance metrics, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Facilitate the journey and strategy development story for stakeholders (management, Board of Directors, staff, investors, market) and collaborate with executive leadership to align strategic goals with organizational priorities. You'll support the COO to develop regular and off-cycle strategy development planning sessions, involving key executive stakeholders.
What you'll bring A background in management consulting, with proven experience in a strategic inhouse leadership role, with a track record of successful strategic planning and execution Demonstrable capability in business analytics, strategy consulting,with a strong understanding of strategic frameworks and methodologies, ideally within investment banking, consulting or similar Strong understanding of technology trends, with preference for subject matter experience in SaaS technologies for small businesses (e-commerce, payments, web presence, domains, etc.) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and make strategic recommendations Strategic and analytic capabilities, including the ability to work through complex details and meticulous analysis that results in clear frameworks and compelling positioning Strong financial analysis and modelling skills to be applied in assessing strategic options and decision making Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and market conditions.
