The opportunity: AIA New Zealand is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Strategy Analyst. This dynamic role will play a crucial part in supporting our Head of Strategy in the development and implementation of AIA NZ's strategy. As a Strategy Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work alongside cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and projects, delivering both short and long-term value to our organisation.
As a key member of our team, the strategy analyst will have the opportunity to collaborate with and influence stakeholders across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include: In this role, you will also be responsible for monitoring, advising, and reporting on the economic, market, regulatory, and competitive landscape. Your insights and recommendations will be vital in supporting the strategic decision-making process for our Board, AIA Group, and Executive Team.
Assist in the development and communication of a robust strategy that will enable AIA NZ to deliver on our purpose and aspiration.
Support robust and strategic decision making across the enterprise, through provision of strategic insights, analysis and thought leadership.
Work cross-functionally across the enterprise to ensure the strategy is executed across all business units and that risks, interdependencies, costs, and benefits are well understood and actively managed.
Provide support to business units to identify and implement strategic initiatives necessary to support delivery of enterprise strategy.
Support key prioritization and resource allocation decisions across the enterprise in line with the strategy.
Provide support to the Head of Strategy and other senior stakeholders in preparation for Board, Group, and Executive strategy and planning meetings and reporting.
Maintain an understanding of the economy, insurance market, trends, strategies and activities of other key competitors and regulators, and communicate this and implications for AIA NZ.
Develop and maintain a high reputation of the Strategy team throughout the enterprise through network building and consistent professional interactions with all levels of the business.
Maintain a strong collegial team ethic and willingness to share and challenge ideas, support others.
Assist with any other projects or initiatives as they arise.
Ideally, you'll bring: Technical Skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including strong financial acumen, reasoning, logic, modelling, and analysis.
Effective stakeholder communications and partnering ability.
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and outcomes to deadlines.
Strategy development and execution – strategy consulting, investment bank, strategy role at large corporate preferred.
Experience in business case creation and financial modelling.
Support for strategic discussions, presentations, and workshops for senior management and audiences.
Qualifications Ideally you will hold either tertiary and/or post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline (i.e. Commerce, Finance, Law, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics).
