Team purpose The Strategy and Shared Services business unit is responsible for all aspects of the finance, accounting and tax functions for the Guardians and the Funds under its mandate, as well as overseeing the design and delivery of the Guardians' strategic agenda and providing internal investment management support for in-house trading. The business unit works closely with the Risk, Technology, Data Technology, Legal, Communications, Human Resources and Internal Audit functions, as well as with the Investments and Portfolio Completion business units. The Strategy and Shared Services business unit holds relationships externally with auditors, Treasury, the Auditor-General, specialist advisors, international tax authorities and the Guardians' custodian.
The Investment Operations team is primarily responsible for the effective administration of the Guardians' portfolio through controls and oversight at total portfolio level, Net Asset Value reporting, middle- and back-office trade support for the internal trading desk, and liaison with key service providers, including the global custodian, external investment managers and counterparties. The team works closely with the Finance, Tax, IT, Data Technology, Data Services, Legal and Risk functions, as well as with the Investments and Portfolio Completion business units.
About the position This role will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining key supplier relationships in alignment with the fund's strategic direction. This role involves collaborating with senior leaders on strategic planning, ensuring supplier performance meets organisational needs, and leveraging relationships to maximize long-term value. Additional responsibilities include overseeing budgets, monitoring performance, providing regular updates, resolving issues, and leading negotiations. The manager will also stay informed on industry trends, ensure policy compliance, and uphold the fund's values and culture. Initially, this role will be responsible for managing the Northern Trust and Bloomberg relationships, though these relationships may change over time.
