In this role, you will support the development of effective strategic planning and contribute to providing corporate policy solutions for Opotiki District Council.About the role:As the Strategic Policy Analyst, you will contribute to the design and development of Council's strategic plans to ensure cultural, economic, environmental and social development, and growth across the district. You will be involved in project planning and work with key stakeholders to ensure that Council's policies are fit-for-purpose.Responsibilities:Policy development and managementStrategic planning and developmentBuilding and holding positive relationships both internally and externallyEncouraging engagement through consultations and communications with stakeholders, elected members, staff and communityBeing part of a small team who monitor the delivery of the Long-Term PlanDeveloping and maintaining detailed project strategies, plans and budgets for development projectsMonitoring legislative requirements and statutory obligations of CouncilIdeally you will have:Relevant tertiary qualification, e.g. public policy, planning, commerce or related fieldAt least 3 years' experience in strategy and policy developmentAn understanding of policy development and alignment to legislative requirementsGood overall knowledge of relevant local government legislationExperience in consultation and stakeholder engagementHigh level of computer literacy using Microsoft OfficeUnderstanding and commitment to Te Tiriti O WaitangiOpotiki is a great lifestyle choice for families, and we want you to experience everything this beautiful part of New Zealand has to offer.
