This team will deliver a more efficient and streamlined asset management service across the department.Reporting to the Director Asset Management, the Strategic Asset Manager will provide functional leadership for the operationalisation of asset management best practice across DOC. We are looking for a great leader who can bring great strategic asset management experience. We are open to considering candidates across the South Island for this role.The position will be focussed on:providing leadership to asset management planning and asset inspection functions aligned to best practice initiativesproviding specialist asset management expertise to develop, implement and manage regional asset management strategiesimplementing and monitoring best practice asset maintenance programmes with a health and safety lens to ensure the DOC team and visitors are connecting with nature safelycollaborating and consulting to key stakeholders (internal and external), to provide specialist advice, knowledge-share and improve efficienciesleading and developing a talented team providing clear guidance and structure to achieve key deliverablesensuring DOC operates as an honourable treaty partner.If you have some of the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:A passionate and energetic leader and mentor who leads by example and empowers their team to achieve a common goal.Experience implementing strategic asset management, compliance management or quality assurance within an operational environment.Exposure using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in support of asset lifecycle management (SAP/EAM or similar) is essential.A strategic mindset, you can think 'big picture', make pragmatic decisions and align business initiatives to the wider DOC strategy.Strong understanding of asset management principles, systems and processes.A strong collaborator, you're able to build trust and influence stakeholders, taking on others opinions whilst remaining on track.Current full New Zealand driver licence.Understands the impact DOC and the wider public sector/government has on the Maori-Crown relationship.DOC places importance on developing a culture where everyone can participate, thrive, and grow.
