The Community Infrastructure Group seeks an experienced professional to join our team as the Stormwater Lead. Reporting to the Local Waters Business & Operations Manager and working closely with the Land Transport Manager and Asset Management Team Lead, you will play a key role in managing stormwater initiatives across Local Waters, Roading, and Solid Waste Infrastructure. You will provide technical recommendations on Council code requirements, development engineering, asset management, overseeing the development and preparation of work packets for stormwater works to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery. In this role, you will collaborate with field teams to manage the operations, maintenance and customer query responses while successfully managing the stormwater assets. Your responsibilities include ensuring efficient works delivery and adherence to budget constraints. Additionally, you will support long-term stormwater management, implement the bylaws currently being drafted, review consent applications, manage proactive improvement programs and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the council assets while also consulting and working with IWI as required. As the ideal candidate for the Stormwater Lead role, you should hold a relevant engineering qualification or possess extensive experience in stormwater management within the Water Industry. Hands-on experience with Local Authority Three Waters networks, along with strong skills in data analysis and report writing, is crucial. You should be familiar with legislation such as the Local Government Act, Water Services Act 2021, and related bylaws. Proficiency in Microsoft Office/365 and exposure to Infrastructure Data and SCADA systems would be advantageous. Key attributes include a focus on high performance, exceptional relationship-building skills, and excellence in public liaison and customer service. You should demonstrate technical and practical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach, while maintaining composure under pressure. Collaboration, a keen interest in learning, quick adaptation to new technologies, and the ability to apply technical knowledge to practical solutions are essential traits for success in this role.
