About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028. The Opportunity We have a fantastic opportunity for a Stormwater Delivery Manager to oversee and manage successful delivery of the Stormwater Maintenance and Renewals Programme. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff to ensure the efficient implementation of stormwater management projects. What you will be doing The Stormwater Delivery Manager is responsible for project planning, resource management, quality control, client coordination, team supervision and will work with the Stormwater Asset Manager to identify and resolve issues and lead change in stormwater asset operations. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in stormwater management, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will have a variety of responsibilities including: Team Leadership and Supervision Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff. Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement strategies for employee development. Contract Management Oversee the subcontractor management process for stormwater contractors and suppliers, including reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure contracts follow legal and regulatory requirements and mitigate risks associated with contractual obligations. Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to address contractual issues and resolve disputes. Financial Management Develop and manage the Stormwater Department project budget, including cost estimation, forecasting, and financial analysis. Monitor department financial performance, track expenses, and identify areas for cost control and optimization. Review and approve project invoices, purchase orders, and financial reports. Conduct regular financial reviews and provide recommendations for improving project performance and outcomes. HSQE - Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Establish and implement quality control procedures to ensure adherence to design standards and specifications. Monitor and track project performance indicators to measure and improve project quality. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the project team. Provide training and resources to the team to maintain a safe working environment. Project Documentation and Reporting Ensure accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports. Prepare and deliver presentations to management and clients to communicate project updates and outcomes. Compile project data and generate reports to evaluate project performance, identify trends, and support decision-making processes. Stakeholder Relationship Management Serve as the main point of contact for client, contractors, and regulatory bodies, maintaining regular communication and building strong relationships. Understand client needs, expectations, and project requirements to ensure successful delivery of services. Address client concerns, inquiries, and requests in a timely and professional manner. Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement strategies to enhance client satisfaction and exceed client expectations. Inter-Department Collaboration Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including department managers, engineers, HSQE, and finance, to ensure smooth project execution and optimal resource allocation. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members, promoting professional development and growth. About You: BE (Civil) or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience as a Civil Engineer, preferably in a stormwater environment Experience in management or design of stormwater assets Full NZ Class 1 Drivers licence If this is the role you have been waiting for, to work within a supportive and high-performing team, then apply online today.
