About the role:
We are seeking a store/yard person that has a can-do attitude and is willing to make the stores/yard area their own. You will be responsible for fully managing our store/yard area, and all activities within it.
You will be part of a small team that includes our workshop mechanics and you will report to the workshop/fleet manager.
It's a great role for someone who likes variety and is not afraid to get their hands dirty from time to time. Nothing will pass in and out of stores without your knowledge! You will always have your finger on the pulse. With a mixture of indoor/outdoor activities, this role will be your niche.
The role includes, but is not limited to:
Ensuring small plant and equipment is calibrated and fit for purpose before it leaves the store area
Ensuring the yard is kept tidy and clean and addressing any non-conformances that may arise
Ensuring that equipment is tagged and tested and fit for purpose across the whole company
Maintaining a register of items that are checked in and out and keeping track of which site/person holds it
Maintaining the Mutu app with yard materials
Organising general maintenance e.g. management/emptying of waste bins, depot cleanliness, and clearance of rubbish and other items
Storage of materials, including hazardous goods
Loading and unloading materials in the yard
Co-ordinating inwards/outward goods
Having a good relationship with suppliers, providers and staff – you will be a pivotal contact
The role is not limited to the above, and from time to time you may be required to undertake other tasks (once your priorities are completed), which may include stoking up the BBQ or assisting in other areas of the business.
About you:
Must hold a class 1 full minimum licence, and a forklift endorsement is preferred
Organised with an eye for detail
Good verbal and written communication skills to liaise with people at all levels
A good level of physical fitness as some heavy lifting will be required
Good adherence to health and safety rules and procedures
Experience in managing small plant and equipment or similar is preferred
Pro-active with a can-do attitude
