1 FTE (40 hours per week)
We are a team of patient-focused, dedicated professionals who are responsible for the reprocessing and distribution of reusable medical devices (RMD) used in surgical and diagnostic procedures in our Operating Theatre and other clinical areas. The role involves a series of complex interrelated processes that include decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilisation of all RMD to a high standard following established department procedures, best practices, and compliance standards.

You will become part of an experienced, high-quality driven, supportive team who are all trained in this specialised profession. This role is both physically and mentally demanding; you're required to complete complex tasks that require high levels of concentration, undertake manual, dexterous work, and operate a broad range of equipment.
You will be required to work rotating, rostered shifts including weekends and evenings.
Our ideal applicant will have either a Certificate in Sterilising Technology or equivalent, plus work-related health experience. However, on-the-job training is provided, and you must be willing to enrol and attain the Certificate in Sterilising Technology in a prescribed timeframe (2 years from appointment).

Utu whanui | Salary range
This role belongs to the Te Whatu Ora/Allied, Scientific and Technical Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($65,842 p.a. pro-rata) and Step 5 ($79,039) p.a. pro-rata of Grade A Technical/Non Degree qualified salary scale.
