This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Sterilisation team. Our team works on the background to decontaminate, inspect, package, and sterilise equipment used in surgeries and other medical procedures. This essential service contributes to the hospital's efficiency, safety, and commitment to providing outstanding healthcare to our community.
As a Sterilise Services Team Leader, you will be at the forefront of maintaining the quality and reliability of this crucial department, ensuring every tool and device is prepared for use in the most effective, timely, and safe manner. You will:
Work alongside a team of skilled professionals in a friendly, patient-centred environment.
Oversee, support, and mentor a team of sterile technicians, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Ensure all sterilisation processes meet hospital and regulatory standards, adhering to infection control protocols.
Facilitate training sessions to ensure all team members are up to date with current sterilisation practices and procedures.
Manage equipment, supplies, and resources to maintain efficient operation of the sterilisation department.
Provide leadership and support to the radiology team, ensuring effective daily operations.
Maintain highest standards of patient care, ensuring all procedures are performed with accuracy and professionalism.
You will work variable hours between 7:30am-8:30pm Monday to Friday and participate in the after hours on-call when required.
The full-time equivalent salary range for Sterile Services Team Leader working 80 hours a week is $52,260-$61,823 (step 1-4) based on the current PSA Allied Health Collective Agreement dependent on skills, experience, and registration in NZ.

The ideal applicant will have:
A qualification recognised by the New Zealand Sterile Services Association (NZSSA) or progressing toward Certificate in Advanced Sterilising Technology - Level 5, as recognised by NZSSA.
Proven experience in sterile services, preferably in a leadership role.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Strong organisational, communication, and leadership abilities.
Commitment to high standards of patient care.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
