Gracefield School Wellington STEM Specialist Teacher Part time, Permanent, FTTE up to: 0.6 Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher Subjects: English, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Maori, The arts STEM at Gracefield School We want YOU!
We are looking for an incredibly motivated, driven and passionate teacher to lead our tamariki, staff and community into the future with STEM!
This is a 0.6 permanent position for 2025.
There is an opportunity for this role to be added to, to be full-time for the right person i.e., an additional 0.4 classroom release component.
What does this look like?
The Gracefield School STEM teacher will be an educator who teaches subjects in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
As a STEM educator, you will perform various tasks depending on the subjects you teach.
Typical duties of a STEM teacher include: Developing a STEM curriculum Planning and implementing STEM lessons Providing STEM report comments for teachers at mid-year and end of year Evaluating students' progress in science, maths, technology and engineering Attending to individual student demands Demonstrating an awareness of different student backgrounds and cultures Communicating regularly with students' parents Providing extra support to students who require it Monitoring growth to identify strengths and weaknesses in students Using student data to improve your STEM curriculum regularly Providing regular feedback to students Meeting the Teaching Council's Expectations set out in 'Our Code, Our Standards' This is a fabulous opportunity for someone who is passionate about STEM and to inspire and bring learning joy to our tamariki, staff and community!
