The experiment is transitioning from development into operations. Assistance is required in documenting the existing system and completing the integration, test, and verification (IT&V) of the numerous subsystems with staff in the US, Japan, and Chile. Responsibilities include documentation and review of mechanical and electrical subsystems, working closely with site teams in Chile and project and program management in the US and Japan.About the Project:Telescope construction involving radio astronomy, systems engineering practices, Mechanical Engineering. This is not a software position. Will be working with the Physics Department on the Simons Array and Simons Observatory. This is a short-term position lasting probably more than one year and up to two years.Requirements:5 years of experience in engineering construction and remote operationsBilingual (English and Spanish)Experience with Lifecycle engineeringExperience with documentation development and managementExperience with requirements and interface definitionsExperience with Integration, test, and verification of parts, components, and subsystemsExperience with software tools for mechanical engineering (SolidWorks), ticketing (Zendesk), and word processing (Microsoft/Google)Education:Bachelors/Masters degree in mechanical engineering
