Project Controls SpecialistAbout the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Program Controls Specialist to join our Building Automation (BA) team based in our Ponsonby office in Auckland. Reporting to the Sr Program Controls Manager, the role's primary function is to ensure all customer projects follow standard methodology and ensure all projects are setup, reviewed and maintained to the Honeywell BA standards in financial, and project execution systems. PCS ensures data integrity by enforcing compliance to project management methodology, and project accounting requirements.
The role will support the local business with commercial management expertise. Together with the Projects Leader and working with Project Managers, they will control the project's commercial and contractual position through the application of knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy standard systems and processes for the project reviews and bring consistency to ensure processes are followedSet-up of projects schedules, tracking, reporting, highlights deviations and proposes recovery plansSet-up of project controls tools for Budget control and monitoring project Earned Value and productivitySupport Project Manager in planning, scheduling and cost control including monthly review and audit on Projects, setting up of Project Vision (PV)Assist the PM in tracking and monitoring project variation with respect to budget & schedule and change managementWork with leaders to implement the work processes, data structures and technology for Project ControlsManage all claims against Honeywell including mediation, adjudication, arbitration or litigationKeep abreast of all major changes and developments in the areas of Building law, Security of Payment Acts, Construction practice and Industry Standard Forms of Contract, and advise District/project management accordinglyKey Experience & Capabilities:
Relevant degree or diploma qualification likely to be in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or Building ServicesProject Management certification desirableMinimum 5+ years' relevant experience in quantity surveying/cost management/contract administration on construction projects is essentialFamiliarity and working knowledge with Honeywell systems, including but not limited to SAP & CORA PM or other large ERP systemProficient in Microsoft Office package skillsExperience in Contract Law and Security of Payment Acts preferredExcellent verbal, written, influencing and presentation skillsQuality conscious and strong attention to detailsDriven and able to build team building skillsAnalytical and great problem-solving skills
