Mo te tunga | About the roleThe Spiritual Carer supports with turoro, patients and their whanau and family in their differing spiritual and/or religious beliefs utilising Te Whara Tapa Wha Maori health model. You'll be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team and will:
Regularly visit with turoro, patients in the community and in our in-patient unitsDevelop and maintain a network with other spiritual leaders and community agenciesAssist with education and training programmesEnable Harbour people to effectively articulate and support a spiritual care perspectiveHe korero mou| About youYou have demonstrated knowledge and skills in working with whanau and families facing loss. You have the resilience to support with turoro patients with life-limiting illnesses. We're looking for someone with leadership qualities, who can collaborate effectively in a team environment, be open minded, and have the flexibility to adapt when things change.
You also need:
Recognised theological qualificationsExperience working supporting people with different spiritual needsAbility and desire to work with people of multi-faith backgroundsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsA valid, clean full driver's licenceKo matou tenei | About usHarbour Hospice is one of the largest hospices in Aotearoa caring for people across the North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford regions.
