Join a supportive & innovative team that is committed to looking after its staff.We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Speech-Language Therapist looking to take the next step in their career as Practice Lead of the Speech-language Therapy Team.As the SLT Practice Lead, you will work within the Senior Services Management Team to ensure the organization is supported to meet people's communication rights. Reporting to the Clinical Director, you will work directly alongside managers of Learning and Development, Quality and Risk, Service Managers, Clinical Practice Leads, and the Chief Operating Officer. In this role you will be:Providing leadership for the speech-language therapy team.Leading communication and dysphagia services for adults with learning disabilities.Triaging communication and dysphagia referrals, allocating caseload.Supervising and mentoring SLTs.Ensuring the team operates efficiently and to a high standard of evidence-based practice.Managing a clinical caseload.Identifying opportunities and scope.Contributing to the development and implementation of strategic objectives across the organization.Consulting on the development of organizational procedures and the delivery of service improvement projects.Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Advocating for people's communication rights within the organization and wider disability sector.The suitable candidate will have:Recognized qualification in speech-language therapy and current membership of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapy Association.Clinical experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities, with a minimum of five years' experience.Strong leadership skills; previous experience managing a team is preferred.Effective communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.Competence in comprehensive communication assessments and appropriate interventions, including expertise in a variety of communication tools and technologies, including AAC.Person-centred approach, committed to the provision of individualized services and support.Commitment and passion; highly motivated and energetic, taking a high level of personal responsibility.Innovation; embraces change and contributes new ideas.Excellence; constantly strives to be the best, goal-oriented, seeking opportunities to improve personal and team performance.A full and current class 1 driver licence is essential.
