General, TherapistWe seek a speech and language therapist with a passion for working with children and young adults with special needs. This position is suitable for an experienced speech and language therapist, or a keen new graduate, who is familiar with the specialist education system in New Zealand.Rosehill is a large South Auckland specialist school for students aged 5 to 21. We are a multi-cultural school, 40% of our students are Maori and over 50% have a diagnosis of autism. We have a Base school with 10 classes, 12 satellite units in mainstream schools and a transition unit.Driving between satellite units is part of this role and you are paid a petrol allowance. We have a large therapy team including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech language therapists and a psychologist.The role is varied and has a set caseload. Priorities are established with the class team and whanau based on students' needs, which are reviewed regularly. Upskilling and empowering classroom staff is a key aspect of this work.
