Job summary This is a temporary opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist with mental health experience to work at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose-built 75-bed hospital in Wellington, Somerset.
You will be responsible for leading group therapy sessions, building rapport with service users, and completing assessments, planning, and implementing interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be demonstrating specialist skills in dealing with complex cases, cultural and linguistic differences, and generating appropriate strategies for caseload management.
You will also be undertaking audits and contributing to research in the provision of treatments.

The Wellesley Hospital built in 2017 works alongside Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Avon and Wiltshire Foundation Trust, Cornwall Foundation Trust, 2gether Foundation Trust, Cygnet Healthcare and Live well to deliver the best possible environment for patients with mental health issues.
You will lead group therapeutic group sessions, helping people develop and improve their speech and communication.
Building one-to-one rapport with service users, you will encourage engagement and empower recovery.
You will have experience in managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans.
