Awanui Labs - Canterbury (previously known as Canterbury SCL) is a part of Awanui Group, the largest network of human and veterinary pathology laboratories in New Zealand. Awanui Labs – Canterbury is a community-based diagnostic laboratory, and we process 3000+ samples daily from our 11 collection sites, general practice and private hospitals.
About the role | Mo te turanga:
We are looking for 2 X Part-time Fixed-term Trainee/Technician for our Specimen reception team for 12 months to cover maternity leave. Your key tasks will be receiving and preparing samples, barcoding, performing data entry of patients and test details and answering phones. This is a hands-on role in the laboratory environment where you will work collaboratively as part of the team, work well under pressure, and have an eye for detail and problem-solving ability.

The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
Customer focus and commitment to providing a high quality of service to internal and external customers with effective interpersonal skills.
A sound knowledge of medical terminology, and laboratory operations including; safety, operations of equipment and hands-on practical experience is desirable; but not essential.
Diploma in Applied Science or a Bachelor of Science would be an advantage.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand without any restriction.
