About the role | Mo te turanga:

As a Specimen Collection Technician, your primary responsibility is to conduct onsite urine and oral fluid testing from participants involved in the Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Court's drug testing program. You will be required to verify the identity of participants, obtain consent, and adhere to the proper chain-of-custody procedures to ensure admissibility of results in court. You will be responsible for conducting testing at our collection facility in West Auckland and at residential treatment facilities and other designated facilities as needed. You will also collect data from ankle bracelets, remove and reinstall bracelets, create e-orders for tests, and perform other administrative duties. If there are any program discrepancies, you must report them according to established procedures to the court and Rako Science. This is a part-time position, working between 5-10 days per fortnight (40-50 hours/fortnight) on a rotating roster. Working hours will be 10am to 6pm for in clinic days and 7am-1pm in residential collection days, Mon – Sun. To succeed in this role, you will need | Kia angitu, me whai koe i: A clean New Zealand Driver's license, and be able to work on weekends and public holidays. Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people and personalities are essential. You must be able to work independently while maintaining confidentiality regarding client information and records. You may occasionally need to travel to different locations in Auckland and Waikato.
