Specialty Nurse, SCBU Waitakere Hospital at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waitemata, Auckland Specialty Nurse - SCBU, Waitakere HospitalPermanent, full-time position (1FTE)Do you want to work collaboratively with women and our neonatal team to plan care, problem solve and help make a difference to the women and babies from the Waitemata District?
We are a Baby Friendly Hospital with BFHI accreditation, and are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Specialty Nurse for our Special Care Baby Unit at Waitakere Hospital.
The main function of this role is to provide extended nursing practice functions of neonatal resuscitation and advanced airway management in birthing, obstetric theatre areas, maternity and SCBU or any site of a neonatal emergency.
You will also undertake assessment of babies with complex needs, recommend and initiate treatment options in accordance with policy or clinical pathways and in discussion with the paediatrician within theWaitakere team.
This is a senior nursing role so you will provide clinical leadership and role model best practice, as well as taking responsibility for the coordination of the unit.
Qualifications and experience required:
Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practicing CertificatePost Graduate Certificate or Diploma in appropriate specialty practice papers (preferably neonatal nursing)Current NLS CertificationPrevious Neonatal experience is essentialTo view the full job description, please click here .
