Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity
The Starship Research & Innovation team were established in 2020 to provided embedded support for clinical research across all areas of Starship Child Health. We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Clinical Nurse to join us on adapting and validating a developmental tool for the revised well child schedule and intimately be involved in assisting 6 national prototypes using the new developmental tool.
The Specialty Clinical Nurse has a key role in delivering clinical trials, working alongside participants and their whanau, together with the study investigators and clinical trial coordinator(s). The expectation is that the Specialty Clinical Nurse will be managing and taking a lead in the research project, involving creative and strategic thinking and utilising advanced nursing knowledge in clinical practice.
Current or recent experience working within Starship would be highly regarded. Experience as a research nurse is essential and the ability to give advice on the organisation and management of the research in progress.

As the ideal candidate for this role you will:
be a registered nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
have paediatric nursing experience
have a personal commitment to on-going learning and development
be capable of working within a multi–disciplinary team
previous experience with PowerPoint, Access, Word, Excel and database entry
Desired skills:
familiarity with research methodology
have a Post graduate qualification
