SDA Kimi Ora School is a specialist school for young persons aged 5-21 years. As part of our school, we run the Specialist Teacher Outreach Service.
Outreach teachers support students who have ORs funding in mainstream schools in the greater Wellington region.
Due to demand, Kimi Ora School has a position for a specialist outreach teacher to join their team on a fixed-term basis based in the Wairarapa.
This position will be starting at either 0.2 or 0.4 FTTE but has the potential to increase in hours in 2025 by negotiation.
The successful candidate will need to be living in the Wairarapa area and will be supported by the leader and other Outreach teachers based in Wellington.
Minimum Requirements Registered Teacher with a current Practicing Certificate from NZ Teachers Council Full New Zealand driver's license. Desired Attributes Knowledgeable and comfortable working across diverse cultures. Experience with the disability sector/school environment is an advantage. Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build and sustain high-trust relationships with all stakeholders. Solutions focused approach. There is travel involved and a mileage allowance is paid. The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position are set by the Primary Teachers Collective Agreement. Individuals' actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
