The details: Permanent – 40 Hours per week (1.0 FTE) - Rostered | Multiple Positions
Salary details: Base Salary: $185,380 - $267,980 plus;
Average call duties and availability allowance approximately 45 - 55% of base salary
Superannuation 6% of total remuneration
CME $16,000.00 per year

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity The Critical Care unit at Waikato Hospital is on a considerable growth path to reform the services and expand the number of ICU level beds that are provided by the Critical Care unit. As a result, we are looking for multiple Senior Medical Officers and Fellows to join this exciting opportunity to be a part of a team working to revitalise the Waikato Critical Care unit.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role: Hold current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in the scope of practice of Intensive Care Medicine, or equivalent, and must be of good standing.Both single and dual trained specialists are encouraged to apply. Those with subspecialty interests including cardiac, paediatric, research and academia will be supported.Employment in this role will only be confirmed once the applicant has been successfully credentialed by the relevant committee of the Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Waikato.The Critical Care Department at Waikato Hospital is the tertiary provider for Intensive Care to the Midland region of New Zealand. The Waikato ICU is a state of the art, 16-bed facility providing all major tertiary services including a major trauma centre and the second largest cardiac surgical centre in New Zealand. We provide neurosurgical and regional burns care in addition to a busy general and paediatric intensive care, catering to the needs of 1500 ICU patients and almost 3000 HDU level patients each year. We operate a retrieval service by both air and road for critical care patients and a large contingency of cardiac patients.
We now prepare to expand Intensive Care and seek to further develop academic and research interests, in addition to further advance training of junior and senior medical staff. In accordance with the level of service provided, the unit is credentialed by the College of Critical Care Medicine at level C24.
